She began her wrestling career in the Mid-South after training in Columbia, South Carolina. Martel joined the AWA in the mid-1980s and participated in the Women's World Championship three times. Later, she became a manager in WWF, working with wrestlers such as Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, and Shawn Michaels. In the 1990s, she appeared in ECW and WCW, managing teams like Harlem Heat. She passed away on June 15, 2007, due to an overdose.
