Shigehisa Kawamura (1901-1980) was a Japanese diplomat and politician who served as the Mayor of Kofu City. Born in Yamanashi, he graduated from Tokyo Imperial University and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He held several diplomatic posts, including in Washington, D.C. and Switzerland. In 1947, he became the second mayor of Kofu City but faced challenges and conflicts within the city council, leading to his resignation after just over a year in office. He was also a candidate for governor of Tokyo in 1963, although he did not win.
