Born on December 6, 1925, she was the eldest daughter of Emperor Shōwa and Empress Kōjun. Shigeko was also the elder sister of the Japanese Emperor Emeritus Akihito. Her life was intertwined with the imperial family, adding to her prominence in Japan's royal history. She died on July 23, 1961, leaving behind a legacy linked to her royal lineage and familial connections.
