Shigeo Kōno (July 10, 1926 – June 8, 2004) was a Japanese scholar in educational sociology and educational administration. He was a professor emeritus at Ochanomizu University. Kōno was born in Miyazaki Prefecture and graduated from the University of Tokyo. He worked at the National Institute for Educational Policy Research and became a professor at Ochanomizu University in 1967, serving as president from 1987 until his retirement in 1992. He was involved with the Japan Sociological Society for Education and the Central Council for Education.
