Shigeru Shimizu (December 8, 1925 - February 3, 2008) was a Japanese scholar of Chinese literature and an emeritus professor at Kyoto University. He was originally from Kyoto and graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University. After studying under Kojiro Yoshikawa in graduate school, he became an assistant in 1952, later becoming an associate professor and then a full professor. He dedicated many years to translating Yoshikawa's version of 'Water Margin' and retired in 1989.
