Shigeru Takasu (October 28, 1908 - January 27, 1979) was a Japanese mountaineer and folklorist. Born in Tokyo, he graduated from Daito Bunka Institute and later studied at a French language school. His mountaineering journey began at age 15 when he climbed Hakuba Mountain, and he started serious climbing around the age of 20. He led the Mountain Travels Club and was involved in the editing of magazines such as 'Yamagoya' and 'Yama'. Takasu was notable for promoting mountaineering as a sport and was a pupil of haiku poet Haru Sato.
