Shimazu Asako was a Japanese noblewoman born on October 23, 1927, and passed away on August 21, 1964. She was the second daughter of Prince Kuni Wakako and Princess Chiko. Before her renunciation of royal status, she held the title of princess, with the honorific of 'Your Highness' in the Imperial Household Law. She is also the second cousin of the current Emperor of Japan.
