Shin Miyazaki (1922-2018) was a renowned Japanese Western-style painter and a professor emeritus at Tama Art University. He is originally from Tokuyama, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He graduated from Nihon Bijutsu Senmon Gakkō and experienced Soviet captivity. Miyazaki received various accolades, including the special selection award at the Nitten in 1965 and the Yasui Award in 1967. He also won the Minister of Education's Art Encouragement Prize in 1998 and served as the director of the Tama Art University Museum. He passed away from heart failure in 2018.
