Shirley Neilsen Blum, also known as Shirley Hopps, is an American art historian born on October 14, 1932. She is a professor emeritus at the State University of New York, Purchase, where she taught from 1970 to 1989. Blum specializes in Northern Renaissance art, early Netherlandish art, and modern art. Active in the Los Angeles gallery scene during the 1950s and 1960s, she co-founded and co-ran the influential Ferus Gallery, contributing significantly to the promotion of contemporary art.
