Shirō Taihei (大平 シロー), born Hiroshi Itō on October 30, 1956, in Izumiōtsu, Osaka, was a Japanese comedian and television writer. He graduated from Seifu Junior High School and Izumiōtsu High School. He was affiliated with Yoshimoto Kōgyō at the time of his death on February 9, 2012. He was known for using the stage name Taihei Shirō before changing it temporarily to Taihei Shirō in 1992. He was the eldest son in a family of two siblings.
