Shlomo Shapira is an Israeli poet, critic, and publicist born in 1938. He immigrated to Israel from Iraq in 1951. Shapira worked as a biologist at Tel Aviv University and began writing poetry and articles in the 1980s. His latest poetry book was published in late 2005 and was translated into Arabic by Samir Nakas. He has published over one hundred and fifty articles in the newspaper "HaTzofe."
