Shoji Abe (1922 - 1987) was a Japanese comedian and actor from Ibaraki Prefecture. Born Tsunemi Kaoru, he spent his childhood in Taiwan and moved to Tokyo inspired by comedian Kenichi Enomoto. He debuted with a theatrical troupe led by his brother-in-law, and formed his own group post-WWII. Known for his performances, he collaborated with various artists, including Torao Nakazawa during wartime shows. Abe trained prominent comedian Jiro Sakai, who later achieved major success. He departed from Asakusa after his last performance on January 31, 1987, and passed away on September 26, 1987.
