Shoushen Jin, born on February 15, 1906, in Beijing, was a renowned Manchu folk art expert, ethnologist, and historian of Chinese traditional form of art, particularly known for his writings on Beijing's folklore and culture. He worked as a teacher and traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, later becoming an editor and columnist. In 1953, he joined the Beijing Writers Association through the efforts of Lao She. Jin's significant contributions to understanding Beijing's historical anecdotes earned him the nickname 'Beijing Expert'. He is recognized for his deep knowledge of Beijing's cultural heritage.
