Shū Katō (December 26, 1925 - 2008) was a Japanese children's literature author born in Akita Prefecture. His real name was Ichirō. He graduated from Akita Normal School (now Akita University) and worked as a teacher, notably at Urawa Municipal Nakamoto Elementary School, as well as an editor before becoming an author focused on children's literature. His contributions to the field earned him recognition, including the Bushey Road Novel Award.
