Shu Ping, born Wang Shu Ping on November 20, 1962, in Meihekou, Jilin, is a Chinese film screenwriter. He gained recognition in 1994 with his short story "Evening Newspaper News" which earned him the Changbai Mountain Literary Award, attracting the attention of director Zhang Yimou, who invited him to write for the film "Say It Well." He has collaborated with Jiang Wen starting from "Devils on the Doorstep" and co-created renowned films such as "Let the Bullets Fly" and "The Sun Also Rises." He published his first novel collection titled "Certain" in 2011.
