Siba, born Sérgio Roberto Veloso de Oliveira on February 16, 1969, in Recife, is a renowned Brazilian folk-rock singer and songwriter. He gained fame in the 1990s as a founding member of the band Mestre Ambrósio. Transitioning to folk music after 2000, he collaborated with traditional brass musicians in Fuloresta and explored experimental sounds with Avante in the late 2000s. In 2015, Siba focused on politically charged themes in his work, notably with the album De Baile Solto. His 2019 album Coruja Muda was recognized as one of the 25 best Brazilian albums by the São Paulo Association of Art Critics.
