He moved to Hong Kong in 1962 and worked behind the scenes at Shaw Brothers. After studying music in Japan, he started teaching singing in 1976, mentoring famous artists like Faye Wong, Leon Lai, Andy Lau, and Anita Mui, earning him the title 'Godfather of Hong Kong Music'. His later years involved contract disputes, leading to controversial nicknames. Sadly, he passed away on July 18, 2010, from complications related to heart disease.
