Siegbert Uhlig (born February 16, 1939, in Königsberg) is a German scholar and emeritus professor at the University of Hamburg. He is primarily known for his contributions to Ethiopian studies, particularly through his work on the Encyclopaedia Aethiopica, which he developed and edited. His research includes Ethiopian paleography, publishing editions of biblical texts in Ge'ez, and editing the Ethiopian Book of Enoch in German. He founded the journal Aethiopica as a platform for scholarly discussions and established the Deutsch-Äthiopische Stiftung to support Ethiopian studies and academic development.
