Sigi Ziering was a Holocaust survivor and prominent figure in the United States as a business executive, scientist, playwright, and philanthropist. Immigrating from Germany, he earned a doctorate in theoretical physics in 1958 and worked as an industrial physicist. In 1973, he became president of the Diagnostic Products Corporation, transforming it from a small startup into a company with over 1700 employees and more than 400 immunodiagnostic tests before its sale to Siemens in 2006. In his later years, Ziering was also known for his philanthropic efforts in Los Angeles.
