Silas Vaqara Tausinga, born on August 12, 1983, is a politician from the Solomon Islands and the son of Job Tausinga, a Member of Parliament since 1984. After his secondary education, he worked as a bank officer before being elected in the 2010 general elections as the MP for West New Georgia. Initially an opposition member, he defected to the governing side in 2012 and became the Minister for Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, making him the youngest government minister in the country at the age of 28.
