She gained recognition as Miss La Libertad after winning Miss Perú Mundo 2006 and competed in Miss Mundo 2006 in Poland. Cornejo also won Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 in China. Additionally, she was the first finalist in Señora Mundo 2011. From 2012 to 2020, she hosted the entertainment segment of América noticias Edición Sabatina among other family magazines. Due to personal challenges, she moved to the United States with her family.
