Siméon Régis Rajaona was a Malagasy academic, grammarian, writer, and educator, born in Antananarivo on February 18, 1926, and died in the same city on June 23, 2013. He was an emeritus professor at the University of Antananarivo and served as the first Malagasy dean of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences in 1972. Rajaona was also a full member of the Malagasy Academy.
