Simón González Restrepo, known as 'Brother Simón' and 'El brujo Simón', was a Colombian politician and writer born on October 24, 1931, in Medellín. He was the son of writer Fernando González Ochoa. Restrepo had a diverse education in various engineering fields and sociology, which facilitated his extensive work in public and private sectors. He served as the first elected governor of San Andrés and Providencia in 1992. Apart from politics, he was also interested in poetry and the occult, organizing the First World Congress of Witchcraft in 1975. He passed away on September 22, 2003.
