Simon Peter Jabir Kay is a British consultant plastic surgeon known for performing the UK's first hand transplant operation. Born in Guernsey, he trained in plastic surgery across several UK cities and had international specialist training experiences in Australia and the United States. His inspiration to pursue surgery stemmed from experiencing unnecessary operations as a child after a burn injury. He was appointed an OBE in 2019 for his contributions to Complex Reconstructive Hand Surgery and was recognized by 'The Times' as one of Britain's top doctors in 2001.
