Simon Park is an English composer and orchestra leader born on March 14, 1946, in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. He is best known for his instrumental piece 'Eye Level,' based on a Dutch children's song, which became the theme for the Thames Television series 'Van der Valk.' The piece reached number one in the UK charts in 1973 and sold nearly a million copies, marking a significant success as the first TV theme to achieve the top position in England. Park has also composed television music under the pseudonym Simon Haseley.
