Sir Simon Charles Wessely is a prominent British psychiatrist, born on December 23, 1956. He serves as the Professor of Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, where he is also the Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Vice Dean for Academic Psychiatry, Teaching, and Training. Additionally, he is the Director of the King's Centre for Military Health Research and a consultant psychiatrist for the British Army. He was honored in 2013 for his contributions to military healthcare and psychiatry and was the elected President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists from 2014 to 2017.
