Following her father's death, she began working at a biscuit factory and joined the communist youth. During World War II, she organized communist youth groups in Brittany, was arrested for her activities, and survived internment in several concentration camps. After the war, she married former deportee Guy Lecrux and participated in veterans' organizations. Bastien passed away on November 16, 2006, in Quetigny, France, leaving a legacy as a significant figure in resistance and communist activism.
