Simone de la Chaume was a renowned French amateur golfer, born on November 24, 1908. She made history in 1924 as the first foreign player to win the Girls Amateur Championship and followed this achievement by becoming the first woman to win the British Ladies Amateur in 1927. Despite losing early in the 1927 U.S. Women's Amateur, her legacy in golf is notable. Additionally, she was married to tennis star René Lacoste and was involved in the creation of the Lacoste sportswear company and the Golf de Chantaco club.
