Aro attended elementary school and worked as an evangelist between 1948 and 1954. From 1955 onwards, she was a homemaker and later became the director of Aron Turkis osakeyhtiö from 1973 to 1976. She was married to Paul Johannes Aro from 1955 until his passing in 1982.
