Sirpa Puskala, born on October 24, 1945, is a Finnish author known for her youth novels. Before her writing career, she worked at the Employers' Central Association. Puskala has been writing since her childhood, producing diaries, poetry, and stories. In the 1970s, she contributed columns to local newspapers and won a poetry competition. Her debut novel, Kiti – mun paras kaveri, published in 1991, was nominated for the Topelius Award. She writes about difficult topics, such as eating disorders and the death of loved ones, and currently lives in Pori and spends winters in Cyprus.
