Sister Rosemary Lynch was an influential Franciscan nun born on March 18, 1917, in Phoenix, Arizona. After joining the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, she taught in Los Angeles and later became a school principal in Montana. Elected to the central administration of her congregation in 1960, she participated in the Second Vatican Council and advocated for nonviolent social change. She co-founded the Nevada Desert Experience and worked actively for peace until her death in a car crash on January 9, 2011.
