Sivasankaran Nair, popularly known as Sivan, was an Indian cinematographer and film director, renowned for his contributions to Malabar cinema. Born on May 14, 1932, and passing away on June 24, 2021, he received the National Film Award three times throughout his career. Sivan also served as the first government press photographer in Travancore and Thiru-Kochi. He was the father of Sangeetha Sivana, Santhoshe Sivana, Sanjeeva Sivana, and Saritha Rajeeva.
