Skip Prokop was a Canadian drummer, songwriter, bandleader, producer, and radio host, born in Hamilton, Ontario. He founded The Spats in 1964, later known as The Paupers, and played at the Monterey Pop Festival. In 1969, he co-formed Lighthouse, a successful 13-member rock orchestra. After its dissolution in 1976, Prokop continued as a sought-after session musician and radio host. He also produced music for film, television, and commercials. Prokop collaborated on various projects, including Mercy Train with his son and released solo albums that received critical acclaim.
