Lloyd Valdemar 'Skippy' Baxter was an accomplished American figure skater known for his versatile skills in both speed skating and figure skating. He won two medals at the 1940 United States Figure Skating Championships and later performed professionally with the Ice Capades. Baxter was renowned for performing backflips and had a close friendship with cartoonist Charles Schulz, whom he worked with on various projects including a segment in 'A Boy Named Charlie Brown.' He also coached figure skating in Northern California and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.
