Smaragde Mbonyintege (born February 2, 1947) is a Rwandan Catholic bishop serving as the Bishop of Kabgayi. He was born in Cyeza parish and received primary and secondary education in church schools. He studied philosophy and theology at Nyakibanda Seminary and was ordained in 1975. He served as a professor and spiritual director at Nyakibanda Seminary until 1996, when he became the rector. In 2006, he was appointed Bishop of Kabgayi by Pope Benedict XVI and was elected as President of the Rwandan Episcopal Conference in 2009.
