Snowy RWP, also known as Commando Snowy, was a Golden Labrador Retriever that served as a tracking dog for the Sri Lanka Army during the Sri Lankan Civil War. He was part of the 4th Commando regiment and handled by Lance corporal D. H. P. Sampath. Snowy was injured in 2008 while tracking an LTTE unit, receiving a medal for his bravery, and became the first dog to be awarded this honor in Sri Lankan military history. He died on 24 May 2011 after recovering from his injuries.
