Sobhi Girgis was an eminent Egyptian visual artist and sculptor, recognized for his significant contributions to the arts. He received the State Appreciation Award for Arts and won the International Biennale medal for Physical Sports in the Arts in Spain in 1973. His accolades include the first prize in sculpture at the 18th Alexandria Biennale and the Jury Award at the Fifth Cairo International Biennale in 1994. Girgis studied art in Italy, earning a diploma from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1964, known for emulating the style of English sculptor Henry Moore.
