Sōjirō (real name: Sōjirō Nomura), born on October 10, 1954, is a renowned Japanese ocarina player and composer. He hails from Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture. All the ocarinas he uses are handmade by himself, and he began crafting them before his debut. Over the years, he has created several thousand ocarinas, though he only performs with about a dozen of them. After living in a closed elementary school in Tochigi Prefecture since 1980, he now resides in a mountainous area of Hitachi-Omiya City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
