Sōkichi Furutani was a Japanese serial killer active in the mid-1960s. Between October 30 and December 12, 1965, he committed a spree of murders, targeting eight elderly men as part of robbery-murders across Western Japan. He is also suspected of the murders of four additional victims, with two occurring in 1951. His crimes spanned various locations, including Osaka, Kyoto, Shiga, Hyōgo, and Fukuoka, and were classified by the National Police Agency as a significant case.
