Sōkun Kawakami (川上 宗薫) was a Japanese novelist born on April 23, 1924, in Ehime Prefecture. His real name was read as Muneshige, and at one time, he also used this name as a pen name. He had a significant impact on Japanese literature until his passing on October 13, 1985.
