Solomon Ehigiator Arase, born on June 21, 1956, is a retired Nigerian police officer who currently serves as the Chairman of the Nigeria Police Service Commission, a position he assumed in January 2023. Previously, he was the 18th Inspector-General of Nigerian Police after the removal of Suleiman Abba. Prior to becoming IGP, he led the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau, the top intelligence gathering unit within the Nigerian police force.
