Sonny Allen (1936–2020) was an American college basketball coach known for his tenures at Old Dominion University and Southern Methodist University. He served as head coach at Old Dominion from 1965-1975, leading the team to multiple NCAA tournaments, including a championship in 1975. After a stint at SMU, he coached at the University of Nevada, Reno and later the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs from 1999-2001. He passed away from Parkinson's Disease in Reno, Nevada.
