Søren Christian Egerod (July 8, 1923 – April 21, 1995) was a Danish philologist and professor of East Asian languages at the University of Copenhagen from 1958 until his retirement in 1993, where he established the East Asian Institute. He also associated with foreign universities, primarily in the USA and several Eastern institutions. Egerod was the director of the Central Institute for Nordic Asian Studies from 1967 to 1987 and became a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 1971. He served as the president of Danish PEN from 1973 to 1976.
