Souren Socrati Darbinyan is an Armenian scientist in the field of earthquake-resistant construction. He was born on May 10, 1931, in Tavush, within the Shamshadin region of the Armenian SSR, USSR. Darbinyan earned his Doctorate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in 1977 and became a professor in 1982. He was elected as a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in 2002, reflecting his contributions to his field.
