Spyridon Skembris is a Greek chess player and grandmaster, having achieved the title in 1991. He was crowned the champion of Greece four times, in the years 1981, 1984, 1989, and 1993. His international success started in 1977 when he shared third place at the World Junior Chess Championship under 20 in Innsbruck, Austria. According to benodi.de, Skembris reached his highest Elo rating of 2560 in January 1993, ranking him 103rd in the world.
