Srećko Horvat is a Croatian philosopher, writer, and political activist born in 1983 in Osijek. After spending his early years in exile in Germany, he returned to Croatia in 1991 at the onset of the Yugoslav Civil War. He is recognized as a prominent voice of his generation, writing extensively on political issues in Europe for outlets like The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and Newsweek. Horvat has authored ten books, including 'What Does Europe Want?' with Slavoj Žižek and 'La radicalidad del amor,' translated into over 15 languages. He co-founded the Subversive Festival and the pan-European movement DiEM 2025.
