Sreten Asanović (1931–2016) was a Montenegrin writer and member of both the Duklja and Montenegrin Academies of Sciences and Arts. He founded the short story genre in Montenegro, and his stories have been translated into over 20 languages. He held various editorial and leadership roles within literary associations, and he received numerous literary awards, including the Trinaestojulska nagrada for his work 'Lijepa Smrt'. His significant contributions to literature were recognized both nationally and internationally.
