In club cricket, he achieved notable success, claiming 97 wickets in the 1979 season and a total of 587 wickets over 135 matches. He had one first-class appearance in the 1995–96 season where he did not score and took 1 wicket. Silva passed away on February 27, 2020, after a motor accident.
