He earned his bachelor's degree in business and marketing from the University of Utah. With a career that included working for General Electric, he later owned Darger Ford in Magna, Utah. Darger served as a Republican in the Utah House of Representatives from 1963 to 1972. He passed away on May 7, 2014, also in Salt Lake City.
