Stanislav Požar was a Slovenian veteran of the Slovenian War of Independence. Born on December 16, 1949, he served in the Territorial Defense of Slovenia. Požar deactivated the firing pins of tanks while working at a military barracks in Pivka, rendering them unusable for combat. On July 2, 1991, he was fatally shot by JLA soldier Mirsad Mešanović while driving near the barracks. Slovenia issued an arrest warrant for Mešanović, but he fled to Sweden, which denied extradition. In January 2011, he was arrested in Denmark, and Slovenia requested extradition again.
